Empty The Tank

It’s a cold Monday morning. Your line mate picks you up. You head to the rink for a nine o'clock skate the coach called after the tough loss on the weekend. Trailing 3-2 in the best of 7 series, you know that the opposing team has far more talent and that your only chance of coming back is to outwork them physically. Your body aches with every stride and stop you make; you stand slouched over, panting after the first drill, then the coach yells “EMPTY THE TANK” and blows the whistle. You dig deep inside to find that last bit of passion and energy to finish the drill, because you know that’s what it'll take to come back and win this series.
